Take on the Pink Ribbon Walk Challenge - walk 350,000 steps in October for the 3,500 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
If you're already walking in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch and want an extra challenge, or you can't attend an event in person, how about taking on the Pink Ribbon Walk Challenge instead?
The Pink Ribbon Walk Challenge encourages you to complete 350,000 steps in October, in support of the 3,500 Kiwi women that are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Sound hard? It'll definitely get you moving! It works out to be roughly 11,200 steps a day for the 31 days in October, but the good news is you can spread it out across the month, maybe do some longer walks on the weekends or when you're walking with friends.
Here's how to get involved -
Register for the Pink Ribbon Walk
When you register, you'll have the option of selecting the $10 Challenge ticket at the checkout. If you're already taking part in the Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch event, you just need to follow the instructions below to activate the challenge on your account.
- Sign in to your account and click into the "Fundraising" tab, then click "Edit"
Find the "Pink Ribbon Challenge" section
Activate the challenge by ticking the box, then scroll to the bottom of the page and hit save. This will add a Pink Ribbon Walk Challenge step tracker to your fundraising page, so your friends and whānau can see the progress you're making.
